Sweet mango, fresh herbs, lime, and chili come together in a bright salsa for tacos, bowls, chips, and summer-style plates.
Fresh Mango Jalapeño Salsa
This bright mango salsa is sweet, tangy, and lightly spicy, with juicy mango, crisp red onion, bell pepper, jalapeño, and fresh lime. Serve it with chips, spoon it over tacos, or use it to add color and freshness to bowls, wraps, and grilled tofu.
Makes: About 2 cups | Prep Time: 10 minutes | Cook Time: 0 minutes
Ingredients
2 ripe mangos, peeled and diced, about 2 cups (330 g)
1/4 cup (40 g) diced red onion
1/4 cup (40 g) diced red bell pepper
1 small jalapeño, seeded and finely diced
1 tbsp. (2 g) finely chopped fresh cilantro, optional
2 tbsp. (30 ml) fresh lime juice, plus more to taste
1/4 tsp. sea salt, plus more to taste
Directions
Add the mango, red onion, red bell pepper, jalapeño, and cilantro, if using, to a medium bowl.
Add the lime juice and sea salt.
Stir gently until evenly combined, keeping the mango pieces mostly intact.
Let the salsa stand for 5–10 minutes before serving so the flavors can settle. Taste and adjust with more lime juice or sea salt, if needed.
Serve right away or cover and refrigerate for up to 2 days.
Make It Yours
Add diced avocado just before serving for a richer, softer finish.
Swap in pineapple, peaches, or nectarines for part of the mango.
Add diced cucumber for extra crunch.
Use serrano pepper instead of jalapeño for more heat.
Stir in a small splash of orange juice if your mangos need a little extra sweetness.
